"Numa cerimónia simples mas emotiva, o Vitória apresentou-se, esta noite, aos sócios. Com o estádio D. Afonso Henriques como palco, os jogadores vitorianos subiram, um a um, ao relvado. Os filhos dos atletas foram as mascotes daquela que foi a primeira de muitas festas no estádio do Rei. O Rei, que não fora esquecido pelo Departamento de Imagem do Vitória. No relvado, foram colocadas quatro bandeiras da Fundação, a lembrar os 900 anos de Afonso Henriques. E como a tradição ainda é o que era, não poderia faltar o habitual fogo-de-artifício. Espero que nos traga trabalho, que nos traga gente que encha cafés hoteis e esplanadas... mas principalmente é A Oportunidade de mostrar a Nossa Guimarães tão única, tão enérgica, tão cheia de história, feitos e mitos, tão nossa.
Obras sim, se estudadas as reias necessidades, se forem projectadas com coerencia e se realizados com qualidade e custo que Guimaraes possa comportar. Para que desta não metam àgua que disso a Mumadona está cheia!
